Alvine Nguemo first connected with CABTAL through the organisation’s website, seeking help for her mother who lives in a remote village. Her request was simple — she wanted to know how to access the New Testament in her mother tongue in audio format so her elderly mother could listen to God’s Word.
CABTAL’s Communications Coordinator, Isaac Genna Forchie, promptly responded, sending her a link to download the recordings. Hours later, and moved by the organization’s work, Alvine asked how she could support the mission. She was introduced to the ongoing 10 10 2 Campaign — an ambitious vision to start Bible translation in 10 new languages and dedicate 10 New Testaments within two years.
Months passed. Then came a surprising message from Alvine: she had just sent FCFA 300,000 ($600) to support Bible translation work.
“Honestly, I didn’t believe this until our accountant confirmed he had effectively received the money,” said Isaac Forchie Genna Forchie.
“This was a mark of gratitude and generosity that beat my imagination, given that I had not been in touch with Alvine for months,” he added, saying he had had similar messages from scammers lately.
“In this light, we are making it to the 10 10 2 Campaign objective,’ Isaac affirms.
Her gift has contributed to the dedication of the Bakweri, Moghamo, Nulibie, Weh and Esu New Testaments. Gestures like these add motivation even for communities like Mbuk, Mbessa and Messaka who are looking forward to the start of their translation in October 2025.
Alvine’s story is a reminder that no act of engagement is too small to spark something extraordinary. Her generosity is helping bring God’s Word closer to communities in their heart language, and you too can be part of this life-transforming mission.
